THE INN "This old house" was built in 1906. During its long tenure at 232 South Marina Street it had three known owners (including a beauty salon in the Terrace Suite). In 1990 the City of Prescott chose South Marina for their new Police Station so instead of destroying the 3500 sq ft house; it was moved approximately four blocks to its present location on the corner of South Pleasant Street and Goodwin. The interior was refitted with new plumbing and wiring and was remodeled to be a bed and breakfast. The 100 year old molding, doors and staircase, as well as the 10 foot ceilings, were preserved to show off the history of this beautiful Victorian home.
THE INNKEEPER Owner and resident innkeeper Jeanne Watkins moved to Arizona in March, 2003, from her home town of St. Louis, Missouri. She came west to be closer to her daughter who lives in Scottsdale but chose Prescott as her new home because it reminded her of the Midwest - grass, trees, four seasons and friendly people.
Having previously owned and managed a travel company for more than 25 years, including escorting groups of people to all parts of the world, Jeanne felt that she had learned how to accommodate the most discriminating person. She left her high-stress world, moved to Prescott, bought the Pleasant Street Inn Bed and Breakfast and changed her life forever.
Jeanne would like to welcome you to her world. Relax, kick-back and enjoy a few days respite in the warm surroundings of the Pleasant Street Inn Bed and Breakfast and the wonderful town of Prescott. You won't regret it.
The Pleasant Street Inn is a member of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce. Jeanne Watkins is on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Association of Bed and Breakfast Inns, Prescott Area Lodging Association, Prescott Bed and Breakfast Association and Prescott Area Coalition for Tourism. |
